Jack DeBoe, Drummer
Jack DeBoe, was born in South Bend, Indiana and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Since the age of 4, Jack studied a variety of instruments including violin and piano before he began focusing on drums at the age of 11. His love and dedication towards his artistry awarded him a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music.
While attending Berklee, Jack had the opportunity to study with Kenwood Dennard, Dave DiCenso, Jackie Santos and Ralph Peterson and continues to study privately. Since graduating from Berklee, he has been working successfully as a freelance musician for a variety of artists based out of the New York and Boston areas. Yan Perchuk, bassist
Bassist Yan Perchuk is Berklee graduate with a degree in music production and engineering.Yan’s musical background was shaped by Russian classical music, Middle Eastern rhythms and American jazz and pop styles.
Having played for and produced a plethora of artists and bands throughout his fifteen year career, Yan has skillfully maneuvered his way through every possible genre of music.
His production oriented vision is heard in every note he plays. Yan’s dedication, professionalism and remarkable musical talent make him a valuable contribution to the K2 Band. |
Adam Bartczak
Adam Bartczak reaches into many walks of music. A Colorado native, He earned a BM from the University of Colorado at Boulder before joining Denver-based hip-hop/jazz collective Yo, Flaco! (winner of Jim Beam’s Best Un-signed Band in America and American Music Award nominee) with whom he recorded three records and toured extensively. He moved east to study with musical gurus Bob Brookmeyer, Michael Cain, and Frank Carlberg at the New England Conservatory in Boston, where he earned a MM in Jazz Composition and had numerous works performed by the Jazz Composers’ Workshop Orchestra and the Jazz Composers’ Ensemble.
Currently, he teaches in the Boston area and plays with several local groups, including his own 8-piece world and funk inspired jazz group, the Republic. |
Chad Selph
Chad Selph began piano lessons at age eight. By high school, he was participating in regional and all-state jazz bands as a pianist. His senior year in high school, Berklee alumnus and drummer Terri Lyne Carrington presented Selph with Berklee’s Outstanding Musicianship award.
He grew up up in Middletown, Connecticut. Now in his fifth semester at Berklee, Selph has already performed at popular music venues around Boston like Wally’s, Regattabar Jazz Club, All Asia, Paradise Lounge, and Fenway Park, and has performed with and for local, national, and international music luminaries like Herbie Hancock, Patrice Rushen, Doobie Powell, Ace Livingston, Ralph Peterson, Mickey Factz, Jetro Da Silva, Dave Santora, Nat Reeves, and more. |
Curtis Norman Warren Jr.
Curtis Norman Warren Jr. was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Curtis began his music career at the tender age of 12. Besides his studies on tenor saxophone he also mastered the soprano saxophone and performed for church services, school programs, cultural festivals, statewide soloing competitions, and concert halls like the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. His high school opportunities encouraged him to pursue and earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Music with a concentration in music education and performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.While earning his degree in Boston, Curtis led a band on Sunday nights at Wally’s Café, a place with a history of presenting only the most talented musicians. While playing gigs at various restaurants and concert halls including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Curtis had the opportunity to meet and even perform with several bands and artist like Roy Hargrove, Cyrus Chesnut, George Russel, Gerome Kyles ,John Brown ‘s Body,Mo’ horns and Gary Thomas, to name a few. The influence of these “greats” and others comes out clearly in Curtis’s improvisational style, in any genre. One can recognize the styles of John Coltrane, Lester Young, Maceo Parker, Kirk Whalum, and Grover Washington, Jr. through Curtis’s playing. In addition to all these, Curtis’s other musical tastes include gospel, rhythm and blues, and funk. |
John Paul
Guitarist John Paul began playing drums at the age of six. On his tenth birthday he received a guitar from his Dad and soon realized his destiny, to become a guitarist. Among his influences are the Beatles, The Yellowjackets, Scott Henderson, and Black Sabbath. This diversity helped mold John Paul into a multi-fascited composer/guitarist. By age 14 he began his professional music career and a few years later, he went on to study music and received his B.A. in Music/Business from the world renowned Berklee College of Music/Keene State College. Upon graduation, John went on to lead a number of Jazz and fusion bands including The Monster Mash,, Applehead,Cybertribe ultimately leading to the formation of the John Paul Group and his latest venture John Paul’s Trainwreck. John also runs a full blown production studio called the NutHouse and teaches privately in southern New Hampshire.
John was most recently inducted into the Nashua, N.H. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and was presented with the first ever Life Time Achievement Award from the Mayor of Nashua. |
